Netherland based DSM announced completion of the acquisition of Aland Holding Limited, a manufacturer of vitamin C, which was prior announced on July 2014. The terms of this agreement was not disclosed by the companies. The acquisition has strengthen DSM’s position in the vitamin C production and meets the financial and strategic needs. 

Vitamin C is the essential nutrient mainly obtained from citrus fruits and plant sources. It plays vital role in tissue repair, production of specific enzymes, improves absorption of other nutrients, and boosts immunity and carry out other important functions. The Aland land improves the DSM’s presence in the vitamin sector globally which is used for human nutrition & health, animal nutrition & health and personal care.

Aland, is a China based vitamin C provider with production plant located at the Jiangsu Province, China. Established in 1990, the company has more than 1600 employees with net sales of USD 110 million in 2014.
